How to Get a Free AI Avatar
Avatarium gives you a free AI avatar with 20 voice minutes per month, no credit card required. Here is how to set it up and use it with Hiora.
What you need
- • A Google or GitHub account (for sign-in)
- • Hiora desktop app (download from hiora.app)
Create an Avatarium account
Go to dashboard.avatarium.ai and sign in with Google or GitHub. No credit card is needed. You are automatically on the Free plan with 20 voice minutes per month.
Your avatar is created automatically
When you sign up, Avatarium creates a random avatar for you automatically with a unique name, 3D model, and voice. You can customise it or create a new one anytime from the dashboard.
Want to tweak it? Click on your avatar to edit appearance, voice, personality, and system prompt.
Copy your Avatar ID
On your dashboard, click on your avatar to open the details panel. Copy the Avatar ID (a short string like abc1def2ghi). You will need this to connect Hiora.
Open Hiora and enter your Avatar ID
Open the Hiora desktop app. Click the Settings gear icon. Paste your Avatar ID in the Avatar ID field.
Start talking
Click the microphone button or press your hotkey. Your avatar will come to life with real-time 3D rendering, lip sync, and voice responses. That is it – you now have a free AI companion on your desktop.
Tips
- Voice minutes only count when your avatar is speaking – idle time, thinking time, and your speech are all free.
- Use BYOK to avoid voice limits – bring your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google API key and the AI brain costs go to your provider, not Avatarium.
- Customize the system prompt – make your avatar a coding assistant, language tutor, brainstorming partner, or anything you imagine.
